Steep Skiing in Alaska

For Cody Townsend, the opportunity to share the big mountains of the Chugach Range from the epic ski hub of Girdwood is more than he could ask for. For Elyse Saugstad, it's a return to her old stomping grounds. Both Cody and Elyse have been taking the competition and film world by storm over the last 5 years. Join this unique unique Co-ed week hosted by Cody and Elyse with an easy going focus on squeezing as much fun as possible out of these mountains. Come for either 5 or 7 days and grab your backstage pass and have a blast spending the week with these two consummate pros in the mountains and on the town.

This experience isn't about classes or clinics, it's about having a good time with two athletes who make it look easy and know how to deliver the best that the Girdwood program has to offer.

ABOUT CODY AND ELYSE

CODY TOWNSEND

ELYSE SAUGSTAD

Cody Townsend is originally from Santa Cruz, California and grew up skiing the Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, area. He grew up ski racing but when he wasn't chasing gates he was typically chasing guys like Shane McConkey, JT Holmes, Kent Kreitler and Tom Wayes around the mountain. From those formative years Cody truly found what he loved to do: skiing the mountains like they're playgrounds sculpted by the gods. Since then Cody has been fortunate enough to carve a career out of his passion.

Cody Townsend: "I've skied across the globe; from places like Southern Russia to Northern Norway to the unexplored wilds of Alaska and the most remote mountains in Chile. I've been able to win a few contests along the way, star in some of the ski movies by Teton Gravity Research and Warren Miller and all in all have a hell of good time along the way."

Elyse Saugstad is originally from Girdwood, Alaska. She grew up skiing at Alyeska Resort, racing on the Alyeska Ski Team while finding a passion for skiing the big mountains of Alaska. In the past few years Elyse has competed on the Freeride World Tour, claiming the championship in 2009 and the female "Line of the Year" in 2009. In the past two years Elyse has won 5 out of the 9 international events she's entered. Elyse has been captured on film in movies by Rage Films and The Levitation Project and will hopes to continue to film in the future.

Elyse Saugstad: "I'm blessed to be a professional skier and through my job I want to help inspire other female skiers and push the limits of what women can do."
