ADVENTURE CAMPS WITH CPG
You've seen freeskiing champion
Gordy Peifer in the films of Teton Gravity Research, Warren Miller, MSP,
Team 13 and IMAX. Take this opportunity to join Gordy here in Alaska's
Chugach Range along with TGR lead Guide and big mountain safety guru Jim
Conway to learn how to take the big lines like a pro. This camp for
advanced skiers and boarders will definitely help you step up your game.
At these camps our goal is for you to enjoy some of the world's finest
terrain and snow while improving your abilities and knowledge.
The Straightline Adventures
ski camps are designed for aggressive skiers of advanced or expert ability.
You don’t need to consider yourself “hardcore” to attend the camp, but
you should have a strong physical or technical base in order to get the
most out of it. The goal here is to do a whole lot of skiing and enjoy
the Chugach the way that Gordy and Jim do. That means we ski aggressively,
finding the best snow, the coolest lines, and the best airs.
If it happens to be a no-fly day due to weather, the group will definitely
not take it lying down! We'll just hop onto the CPG snowcat and go
rip the 1,000 acres of dedicated terrain. If we still haven't had
enough, we'll go and ski Alyeska Resort at night. (*Lift tix not included).
This camp
will concentrate on:
Steep skiing techniques
Technical descents
Line selection
Catching air
Backcountry skills
Avalanche awareness and safety
Personal video analysis
Participants in this camp are
limited to 8 people. The group will stay at the ultra comfortable
Alyeska Prince Hotel with Gordy and Jim. This allows for great social
interaction and further review of what the group experienced during the
day.
It can take years to learn
how to handle the complex terrain in the Chugach. However, with our coaches
as your guides, you will be experiencing the best that these mountains
have to offer during your week.
