Julie Zell may be considered one of the most achieved women snowboarders of her time. Claiming 3 crowns in the Queen of the Hill, World Extreme contest in Valdez, Alaska is just the beginning of her accolades. She has collected numerous other titles including the Gravity Games, the Verbier Xtremes, and the US Extremes. On this path to the big mountains, she participated in the ISF and FIS World tours while making a run for the Olympics, and also worked her way to the 10th position in the world for BoarderX, the venue in which she participated in the XGames for 6 years.
Julie has transitioned into what she calls a far more “extreme” life, of being a single mom, restaurant owner, full-time student, and part-time coach and instructor in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Julie has been skiing her whole life and began snowboarding at the ripe age of 22. A perfect example of believing in yourself and focusing on your goals, she found her own fear and mind to be the largest obstacle.
Through years of dedication to herself and the goal to make every day better than the last, she found that sharing her experience and helping others overcome fear to relish in new life experiences is what she enjoys the most and excels at the best. |
