Rich Peterson was raised skiing and snowboarding in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah and has a deep passion for the backcountry. After 15 years of pursuing a career in the snowboard world he made a trip to Girdwood in 2006 and fell in love with the Chugach.

As one of the few snowboarding guides at CPG Rich can cater to shredders young and old.

With more than a decade of experience in the retail side of snow, Rich can help you tune your board(s) for pow performance or recommend the latest gear for you to have the Alaskan experience that you’ve always dreamed of.

In the off-season Rich has been a wildland fire fighter since 2004. Rich also enjoys skateboarding, mountain biking and surfing at his house in Baja.

Rich has attained his avalanche two certificate, Wilderness First Responder certificate and is currently pursuing his AMGA Ski Guide certificate.
