:: location
The Tordrillo Mountain
Lodge is tucked in between Mt.McKinley towering at 20,320 feet and two
smoldering volcanic peaks: Mt. Gerdine (11,258) and Mt. Torbert (11,413
feet). The surrounding terrain also lays out massive glaciers and towering
peaks that go on and on and on. The entire Tordrillo complex sits on top
of a large granite batholith, surrounded by sedimentary deposits that result
in fantastic hiking and glacial exploration. Denali National Park, just
30 miles away, offers panoramic views of the largest peak in North America.
In a word—this place is humbling. Expect it to soon become known as one
of the most remarkable adventure locations in the world.

:: options
for guided activities
Rafting-
The surrounding creeks and the Talachulitna River offer scenic and whitewater
rafting opportunities. Choose paddle-rafting on Class III rapids with friends,
or meander down a slow brook while fishing from an inflatable kayak. All
river access is via helicopter.
Fishing-
Depending on your preference there are several fishing options. Our helicopter
drops you and your guide off in secluded creek carved canyons with rafts
or inflatable kayaks, allowing you to navigate the creeks at your own pace
and fish the areas that prove to be red hot with a heli-pickup back to
the lodge. Or utilize the chopper for the day and hop from hole-to-hole
in search of the very best fishing action. Either way, the Talachulitna
River drainage and other surrounding rivers are teeming with Sockeye Salmon,
Coho Salmon, late King Salmon, Dolly Vardon and trophy sized Rainbow Trout.
30 inch rainbows are not uncommon in this area. When you’re not out in
the helicopter, Rainbow, Char and five species of salmon are available
out the front door of the Lodge!

Glacier Exploration-
Travel by helicopter to the bases of some of the greatest glaciers in Alaska
including the Triumvirate, Trimble and the Hayes Glaciers. Our guides will
lead you along routes directly on the ice so that you can view the crevasses,
kettles, moulins and other glacial features. Explore blue ice tunnels and
take lunch above the amazing Hayes River Valley.
Heli-Hiking -
Spend a day hiking amongst the heather in North Americas largest mountain
range. Whether you have a taste for a casual backcountry stroll or an aggressive
climb, our guides will show you spots that you will remember forever, always
with your safety and comfort as our top priority.

Flightseeing and
Wildlife Viewing - Choose between the
helicopter or a float plane and experience the wonders of the awe inspiring
Alaska Range. Home of Mt. McKinley and a number of active volcanoes including
Mount Spurr. Visit the amazing Kichatna Spires with surrounding 3,000 foot
walls of pink and golden granite. Fly over the never-ending ice sheet of
the Triumvirate Glacier or see the rich geology of the amazing river valleys
carved out over millennia of glacial movement. Keep an eye out for wildlife
including bears, moose, fox, ermine, mink, bald eagles, hawks, mountain
goats, Dahl sheep and more.
