Our single day skiing adventures access some of the best terrain in Alaska, without the commitment of longer or more expensive trip. Trips begin and end at the Hotel Alyeska, and guests receive safety instruction and gear before heading out into the field. A typical day is between 6-10 runs when weather permits.
Day skiing trips generally access the terrain surrounding Girdwood, Portage, and Turnagain Pass. Guides select the zones with the most favorable conditions on a day by day, even hour by hour basis. For our remote zones, guests have a short van ride to a staging area before heading out into the field each day.
Within the zones typically accessed on day skiing trips, the weather can vary considerably. We typically fly between 50%-60% on our day skiing trips.
Day skiing is available when conditions permit in December and January. In February, March, and April, it is regularly scheduled.
