With 750,000 acres of heli terrain, 3 helicopters, 2 snowcats, and Alyeska Resort, CPG clients are in the mountains every day.
Chugach Powder Guides was founded in 1997 in the heart of the Western Chugach mountain range. Since then, CPG has opened up the finest backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the world, flying guests into terrain suitable for all skill levels. We have cataloged hundreds of new runs and tens of thousands of landings between the interior Chugach, Seward area, and Tordrillo mountains. Today, this indescribable terrain and our stellar reputation bring ski and snowboard enthusiasts from around the world to experience mountain adventures that are exclusive to Alaska.
As a group of passionate skiers and snowboarders, CPG understands that when our clients come all the way to Alaska, it is imperative that they ski or ride no matter what. With this in mind, we developed our snowcat-skiing terrain for no-fly days and have fostered a cooperative relationship with Alyeska Resort to assure that you ski or board no matter what, without compromising our safety standards.
The small alpine ski village of Girdwood is located 40 miles (64 km) southeast of Anchorage via the Seward Highway along scenic Turnagain Arm. Nestled amidst the Chugach mountains and surrounded by hanging glaciers, Girdwood was once a gold mining outpost. Now you’ll find a growing ski town of 2,000 with a luxury hotel and ski resort, ski shops, excellent restaurants, and watering holes full of local color.
With numerous daily flights direct from Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver, Phoenix, and Chicago, getting to Anchorage is easy and highly reliable. Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air is our preferred carrier, and Anchorage is served by most major carriers.
