No heli-ski operation in the world flies 100 percent of the time. So, we're happy to be able to offer an amazing array of activities that will keep you skiing if you so desire, or relaxing, or getting a great work-out or just having fun.
Resort Skiing
Alyeska Resort offers 2,500 vertical feet of lift served skiing and 3,200 feet if you feel like hiking the headwall. With more than 650 inches of snow on average and plenty of compelling terrain, a down day at CPG is still more than likely a great day of skiing.
Snowcat Back-up Skiing
If you're planning to come heli-ski with us, you may want to consider our Snowcat Back-up plan. That way, if we don't fly, you have a reserved seat in our snowcat for a day of great snowcat-skiing. Snowcat skiing is dependent on the low elevation snowfall.
Nordic Skiing
There are roughly 20 miles of nordic and multi-use trails in and around Girdwood in the winter. Most are maintained by the Girdwood Nordic Ski Club. You have fantastic skate and classic nordic skiing right out your door with good equipment available for rent.
Ski-Touring
Most of the guides and staff at CPG go ski-touring on our days off, and are more than happy to guide you on a ski tour as well as find ski-touring gear for you. Joe Stock with Stock Alpine Adventures or Nick D'Alessio (a CPG guide) with Remarkable Adventures are excellent options for guiding your journey into the backcountry.
Snow-Biking
Most of the trails in Girdwood, and a few that head up and out of Girdwood, are open to Snow-bikers. The Alyeska Resort rents fat tire bikes daily!
