Standby List

Everything you need to know and do to be put on one of our standby skiing lists and be eligible to ski when a seat opens up.

Thank you for your interest in standby skiing options with Chugach Powder Guides. Submit your details on the standby-form below, and we'll add you to the standby list. To ensure eligibility, you should also fill out the on-line reservation form in advance at your earliest convenience (though it does not have to be done now, it should be done before you hope to ski with us. Otherwise, you may not be eligible.) If you would like to be considered on both standby lists, please submit the form again with a request to be placed on the list that differs from your first request.

If you become eligible for a helicotper seat, we will most likely call you the evening before the date(s) you requested. In rare cases, we may call you the morning of the date you requested. For snowcat skiing, we will call you on the morning of your desired start date.

Helicopter-Skiing Standby List

Typically, helicopter seats become available for those people who've put themselves on our "Helicopter-skiing Standby List, the afternoon or evening prior to the day of helicopter-skiing. Seats are more likely to become available toward the end of a week and less likely to become available on Monday-Wednesday.

In order to be eligible for stanby helicopter-skiing, you must fill out our on-line reservation form as well as the standby form.
Should you become eligible for a standby heli-skiing seat, you will receive a call from us as soon as that seat becomes available.

Snowcat-Skiing Standby List

Usually snowcat seats only become available when we are flying our helicopters as many of those helicopter-skiing guests reserve snowcat seats in case they can't fly. So, if the weather is good, the chances of snowcat stanby guests getting called to come snowcat-ski with us are much greater.

To check to see if we are flying (and therefore are/are not likely to have snowcat skiing availability), please call (907) 566-1144. The first update to this hotline will be at 8:00 AM.
To maximize your eligibility for standby snowcat-skiing, we ask you to fill our our on-line registration form as well as the standby form.

Please identify any additional dates you are interested in.
